The Ross Little Giants will head out on the road to face off against the Napoleon Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
Ross' 21-4 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were beaten by Anthony Wayne 75-33 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Ross can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Anthony Wayne is ranked 94th).
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Napoleon beat Patrick Henry 44-39 on Friday. The victory was just what Napoleon needed coming off of a 70-30 defeat in their prior matchup.
Napoleon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Cicero, who scored 16 points. Makayla Kruse was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
Their wins bumped Ross to 1-2 and Anthony Wayne to 2-0.
Ross was able to grind out a solid win over Napoleon when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 41-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ross since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
