Timberline and Borah are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Wolves will be playing at home against the Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Timberline comes in on four and Borah on three.
Timberline is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Capital, who was ranked fourth at the time (Timberline was ranked second). The Wolves were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Golden Eagles on Thursday. Considering the Wolves have won six games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Delaney Wright made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Mallorie Casch was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ysabela Pereira, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Borah). Everything went their way against Boise on Thursday as they made off with a 14-4 victory.
Borah let Reese Naylor and Kayla Campbell run wild. Naylor went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Campbell went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Naylor launched this season. Maggie McMullen was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
Borah always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Borah pushed their record up to 3-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Timberline, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
Timberline might still be hurting after the 9-2 defeat they got from Borah in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Wolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
