The Loudon Redskins will head out to square off against the Alcoa Tornadoes at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Loudon is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Loudon and Roane County have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. Loudon took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Roane County.
Loudon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Bethel, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Caden Ridings also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, while Alcoa put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Gatlinburg-Pittman. Everything went Alcoa's way against Gatlinburg-Pittman as Alcoa made off with an 18-0 victory. The game marked the Tornadoes' most dominant win of the season so far.
Myles Cox made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Miles Watson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Bleau Kennedy was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Alcoa hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gatlinburg-Pittman struck out nine times.
Alcoa is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.8 runs. Loudon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Loudon skirted past Alcoa 1-0 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will Loudon repeat their success, or does Alcoa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
