In what's become a running theme this season, the Empire Ravens gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. Everything went their way against Willcox as Empire made off with a 78-54 win. Winning may never get old, but Empire sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Deshawn Washington continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Wernimont, who scored 12 points.
Alan Solis and Lane Whetten certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Solis scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Whetten dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Whetten hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Caden Hooper, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Empire's victory bumped their record up to 17-10. As for Willcox, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-18.
Empire does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Willcox, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Santa Rita at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Willcox is coming into the game with three straight defeats at home, meaning Santa Rita will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
