The Butler Bears will be playing at home against the El Dorado Springs Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Butler strolled past the Cardinals with points to spare, taking the game 59-44. Given Butler's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Cardinals are ranked 469th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, El Dorado Springs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They breezed by Warsaw on the road to the tune of 68-41. El Dorado Springs pushed the score to 56-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats cut but never quite recovered from.
Butler has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for El Dorado Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
Butler lost to the Bulldogs at home by a decisive 75-56 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Butler avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
