The Kearns Cougars can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 44-30 win over Juan Diego Catholic. For Kearns, this counts as revenge for the 54-47 loss Juan Diego Catholic walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2020.
Leading Kearns to victory were Kylee Glade and Mina Kinikini. Glade scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Kinikini scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Adhau Chol was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.
Kearns' win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Juan Diego Catholic, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.
Kearns will head out on the road to face off against Park City at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. As for Juan Diego Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Taylorsville at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Taylorsville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday.
