Softball Recap: Abbott Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Abbott's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over the Keene Chargers. Considering the Panthers have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Abbott let Sarah Alexander and Cheyenne Linder run wild. Alexander went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Linder went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits Linder has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dinah Kaska, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Abbott was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Abbott pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Keene, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-5.

Coming up, Abbott will be playing at home against Axtell at 4:30 p.m. on March 25th. As for Keene, they will venture away from home to square off against Life Oak Cliff at 5:00 p.m. on March 25th.
