Coventry has gone a perfect 10-0 against Windsor Locks recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Patriots will host the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. Coventry is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Coventry's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Portland with a sharp 11-0 win. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Highlanders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Kevin Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Coventry is undefeated when he allows at most two hits, but 5-6 otherwise. Johnson was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kyle Hecht was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Mather Spear was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Coventry hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Windsor Locks entered their game against Ellington on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Raiders might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-1 to the Knights, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Raiders' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Windsor Locks saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Scholefield, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Scholefield is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
Windsor Locks' loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Coventry, their win bumped their record up to an identical 8-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Coventry has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Windsor Locks struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Coventry took their victory against Windsor Locks in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
