Basketball Recap: Rancho Solano Prep Skates Past Anthem Prep with Ease

Rancho Solano Prep meant business on Tuesday, getting buckets from all over the court against a Eagles squad that has allowed just 26.43 points per contest. The Rancho Solano Prep Mustangs claimed a resounding 58-15 victory over the Anthem Prep Eagles. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 32 points or more this season.

Nenah Brown continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 10 for 15 on her way to 20 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Payne, who posted six points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Rancho Solano Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Anthem Prep only pulled down four offensive boards.

When it comes to explaining why Anthem Prep lost, don't look at Madi Hatfield. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Hatfield has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times she's played.

Rancho Solano Prep is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.6 points per game. As for Anthem Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Rancho Solano Prep will challenge Phoenix Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Phoenix Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Anthem Prep, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 36-23 win against Antelope on the 9th.
