Dunlap has gone a perfect 7-0 against Illinois Valley Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will head out to face off against the Grey Ghosts at 4:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Dunlap sitting on six straight victories and Illinois Valley Central on five.
Dunlap gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Limestone by a score of 11-6.

The team relied heavily on Davis Weeks, who scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Ferrari, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI.
Dunlap kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, while Illinois Valley Central put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Monticello. The Grey Ghosts walked away with a 4-0 win over the Sages.
The result came thanks to Gabe Perez's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Illinois Valley Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Lusher, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was Lusher's first of the season.
Dunlap's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Illinois Valley Central, their record now sits at 9-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Dunlap has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Illinois Valley Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Dunlap's way against Illinois Valley Central when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Dunlap made off with an 11-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
