The Liberty Ranch Hawks can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 44-32 victory over McClatchy. That looming 44-32 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Liberty Ranch yet this season.
Among those leading the charge was Andrew Cadiz, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. Cadiz also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. Ryan Martin was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kendall Andrews, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eugene Castillo, who scored six points.
Liberty Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for McClatchy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Liberty Ranch's road trip will continue as they head out to face St. Mary's at 8:45 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully St. Mary's focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday. As for McClatchy, they will square off against Edison at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Allowing an average of 51.7 points per game, Edison has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this match.
