The Texas Tigers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They claimed a resounding 51-14 victory over Nacogdoches at home. The result was nothing new for Texas, who have now won five matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.
Texas was led to victory by Tradarian Ball and David Potter. Ball rushed for 185 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.3 yards per carry, while Potter threw for 303 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 15.2 yards per attempt. Ball is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Hall, who picked up 112 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Nacogdoches still got an impressive performance from James Williams, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Texas' victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Nacogdoches, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Texas will head out on the road to face off against Whitehouse at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Whitehouse has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 369 points over their last eight matches. As for Nacogdoches, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
