Keymonne Gabriel of Loyola ran for the longest rushing play in Catholic Intersectional this season against Cabrini last week. Gabriel scampered for 93 yards on the play and finished with 200 on the day as his team defeated the Monarchs.
Shrine Catholic moved up to 252 from 341 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Knights climbed the ranks as a result of topping University Liggett 26-0.
Shrine Catholic's dynamic duo of Conner Francek and Tim Niehaus proved tough for the Knights to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Francek threw for 201 yards and Niehaus had 133 yards receiving. Chris Kelly helped Shrine Catholic's passing attack out by catching two balls for 31 yards.
Bishop Foley's Nathaniel Grys and Nick Gwisdalla have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Grys has thrown for 1100 yards this season, while Gwisdalla has 18 catches for 429 yards. Loyola's Gabriel leads the league in rushing yards with 1490.
A big matchup in Catholic Intersectional this week will be when the Bull Dogs take on John Goddard's team. Loyola is currently in first, while the Knights are in fourth.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Bull Dogs take on Shrine Catholic. Loyola has allowed 61 points this season, while the Knights have given up 143. The Bull Dogs allowed 0 points last week as they defeated Cabrini.
Loyola extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Monarchs, 42-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
