Metea Valley posted their closest  win since August 30th on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  2-1  victory over the DeKalb Barbs. The  win was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their five-match losing streak.
 Metea Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-19,  25-16.
 Olivia Stewart paced Metea Valley's offense, picking up nine kills. Stewart got some help from  Ashley Ward and her 24 assists.  Sienna Bialek and  Ava Guzaski kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.
Metea Valley's victory bumped their record up to 14-20. As for DeKalb, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-20 record  this season.
 Metea Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for DeKalb, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Guilford  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
