Franklin County is 8-2 against Lawrenceburg since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Franklin County turned things around against Northeastern on Saturday. They skirted past the Knights 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted against the Knights since May 3, 2017.
Owen Baker looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Braylon Kruthaupt was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Franklin County: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-7 otherwise. Tristen Goodin also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Meanwhile, Lawrenceburg waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the Shiners. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their two-run performance the game before.
The team relied heavily on Kolton Chase, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted over his last nine contests. The team also got some help courtesy of T.J. Tibbetts, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Lawrenceburg pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin County, their record now sits at 6-9.
Franklin County suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Lawrenceburg when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
