South Holt/Nodaway-Holt have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They take on Rock Port at 7:00 PM. Both of these teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
After flying high against Stewartsville/Osborn two weeks ago, South Holt/Nodaway-Holt came back down to earth. South Holt/Nodaway-Holt took a serious blow against Mound City/Craig last Friday, falling 28-64. A silver lining for South Holt/Nodaway-Holt was the play of junior Taran Clark, who rushed for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns. Clark has now scored at least one touchdown in the past five games.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Rock Port, and their game last Friday only extended their streak of losses to three. They were given a punishing 20-69 defeat at the hands of Southwest/Hale/Tina-Avalon. The state rankings had actually given Rock Port a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
South Holt/Nodaway-Holt took a serious blow against Rock Port the last time the two teams met, falling 32-82. Can South Holt/Nodaway-Holt avenge their loss, or is history doomed to repeat itself ? We'll soon find out.
