Foxcroft and Wakefield School are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Foxcroft None will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Wakefield School Fighting Owls at 4:00 p.m. on February 13th. Foxcroft's defense has only allowed 26.2 points per game this season, so Wakefield School's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Foxcroft struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Friday (St. Michael the Archangel was 40% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Foxcroft received a tough blow as they fell 41-22 to St. Michael the Archangel.
Foxcroft's loss came about despite a quality game from Irene Boehm, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Boehm also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Flora Warr, who scored two points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Wakefield School can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They breezed by Randolph-Macon Academy on the road to the tune of 46-15.
Ceci Turner and Meira Barnaby were among the main playmakers for Wakefield School as the former scored 15 points along with seven steals and five assists and the latter scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Turner has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last 14 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aya Mason, who scored eight points along with two steals and two blocks.
Foxcroft now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Wakefield School, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road.
Foxcroft ended up a good deal behind Wakefield School in their previous matchup back in January, losing 27-12. Can Foxcroft avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
