Softball Game Preview: Riverside Prep Silver Knights vs. Academy for Academic Excellence Knights

For the second straight game, Riverside Prep will face off against Academy for Academic Excellence. The Silver Knights will host the Knights at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Riverside Prep will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Riverside Prep made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Academy for Academic Excellence, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Silver Knights beat the Knights on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 15-2. The Silver Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by nine runs or more this season.

Bree Garcia made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Garcia was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Meeka Martinez, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Alyssa Martinez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Riverside Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

Riverside Prep's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-8.
