Cody Gasseling Tops All Others This Week
Starting off the list is East Valley's Cody Gasseling, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Gasseling rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. He has become a key player for East Valley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.
East Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Gasseling and East Valley will welcome Quincy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Nathan Montes De Oca Puts an End to Grandview's Losing Streak on Friday
Thanks in part to Nathan Montes De Oca, Grandview said goodbye to their 14-game losing streak dating back to last season. Montes De Oca produced his best game of the campaign on Friday: he rushed for 160 yards and three touchdowns. Those 160 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
Grandview's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. Montes De Oca and Grandview will challenge Tri-Cities Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Rainer Posts Huge Game in 26-7 Win
Jacob Rainer was a major factor in Prosser's victory over Othello on Friday. Rainer did his part (and then some), rushing for 20 yards and four touchdowns, while also throwing for 181 yards on 16 of 23 attempts for the 'W'.
On the season, Rainer has averaged 209.4 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 9.71 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 38.29 rushing yards.

Greyson Stevens Makes It Two for East Valley
The second East Valley player making an appearance here is Greyson Stevens, and for good reason. He picked up 87 receiving yards and a touchdown. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 68 yards.
If the past is any indication, Stevens could be in store for another big game when he takes on Quincy on Friday. When Stevens last faced the Jackrabbits back in September of 2023, he picked up 167 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Rounding off our Top Five is Ezequiel Ramirez of Toppenish. Ramirez picked up two sacks, forced a fumble, and made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).
