The Belfry Pirates scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They really took it to Phelps for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-35 victory on the road. The win was nothing new for Belfry as they're now sitting on three straight.
Belfry's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jenna Sparks, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Sparks is crushing the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jaaliyah Warren, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Belfry has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season. As for Phelps, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season.
Belfry didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-23 victory vs. Hurley on the 9th. Phelps will be playing at home against Shelby Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
