Even though the Commerce Tigers have not done well against the Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Commerce came out on top in a nail-biter against Prince Avenue Christian and snuck past 65-62. Given Commerce's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Prince Avenue Christian is ranked 373rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Malay L miitchell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Raven Parks, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Commerce and bumps their season record up to 10-6. As for Prince Avenue Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
Commerce will be playing in front of their home fans against Rabun County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Prince Avenue Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against George Walton Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. George Walton Academy will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
