The Faith Christian Lions suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They took a serious blow against Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, falling 75-25. While losing is never fun, Faith Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1313th, while Western Sierra Collegiate Academy is ranked 475th).
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Max Bryan, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Bryan is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Oakley, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Faith Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Faith Christian's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Buckingham Charter at 7:30 p.m. on January 11th. Western Sierra Collegiate Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cristo Rey at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Cristo Rey is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
