Skyview had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Emmett on Tuesday. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Huskies. The Hawks have beaten the Huskies the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Huskies has come to flipping the script.
Makenna Shamy was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI.
In other batting news, Skyview got a massive performance out of Kenna Bettencourt, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Bettencourt has posted since back in May of 2024. Ella McMullen was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI and one double.
Skyview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Emmett only posted an OBP of .455.
Skyview's record is now 10-13. As for Emmett, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.
