Northside (Warner Robins, Ga.) received a huge boost from its defense against Lakeside (Evans, Ga.), as the unit scored 18 in defeating Lakeside (Evans, Ga.), 56-0.
After taking the lead on a defensive touchdown in the first quarter, the Eagles led 42-0 at the half.
Northside expanded its lead to 56 points entering the fourth quarter. NHS scored two times in the third, including once on a
Curtis Martin touchdown run.
Martin and
Keshun Hill ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Panthers. Martin scored two touchdowns on the ground and Hill added two as well.
The Warner Robins school also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 57-14.
The defeat comes as a step back for Lakeside, which notched a 43-7 victory over Westside in its previous outing. With the win the Eagles extended their winning streak to four games.
Lakeside (1-3) will play a AAAAA Region 2 game against Grovetown next week, while Northside (4-0) will take on Houston County also in a AAAAA Region 2 game.
