Shannon Wingate posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 294 yards and three scores while picking up 13.4 yards per carry, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has become a key player for Maiden: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 2-3 otherwise.

Looking ahead, Wingate and Maiden will head out on the road to challenge Newton-Conover at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will pit Wingate up against the Red Devils' star RB Jayden Smith. Will the game be decided in the trenches? We'll have our answer very soon.
