The Jefferson Academy Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season. They breezed by The Academy at home to the tune of 52-21. Winning may never get old, but Jefferson Academy sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Jefferson Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarah Welsch, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and three steals. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylin Chichirico, who scored six points along with five steals.
Jefferson Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for The Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson Academy will take on Stargate School at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Stargate School comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. The Academy and Eagle Ridge Academy will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Eagle Ridge Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
