Bishop Kelly has gone a perfect 5-0 against Vallivue recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Knights will take on the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Bishop Kelly will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Bishop Kelly had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 64-point drubbing they dealt Skyview on Thursday. The Knights simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hawks 64-0. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won four contests by 28 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bishop Kelly to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eli Lynes, who rushed for 80 yards and a pair of scores. Ben Avella was another key signal caller, throwing for 129 yards and three touchdowns on perfect 5-for-5 passing.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jared Thiel, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Bishop Kelly's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jackson Kite-Powell, Will Kerby, and Quentin Powers, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Meanwhile, Vallivue unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 13-7 to Ridgevue. Surprisingly, this marked the Falcons' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Vallivue's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Bishop Kelly, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Bishop Kelly has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 425.7 total yards per game. It's a different story for Vallivue, though, as they've been averaging only 248.5 total yards. Will Bishop Kelly be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Falcons flip the script?
Bishop Kelly was able to grind out a solid win over Vallivue in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 21-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
