The Glenwood Titans had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.9 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 53-50 win from a begrudging Titanssquad. This was payback for they, who suffered a 34-27 loss the last time these two teams met.
Makenna Yeager continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Lehnen, who scored seven points.
Glenwood pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-5.
Glenwood will be home for the holidays to greet MacArthur at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. MacArthur will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 379th, while Glenwood is ranked 75th). Sacred Heart-Griffin won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mater Dei at 1:30 p.m. on December 16th.
