The Acalanes Dons lost against the Dougherty Valley Wildcats back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Acalanes suffered a tough 69-49 defeat at the hands of Dougherty Valley. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Acalanes in their matchups with Dougherty Valley: they've now lost six in a row.
Acalanes' loss came despite strong showings from Gavin Dodge and Maddox Malm. Dodge scored 17 points, while Malm scored 8 points. Dodge scored a full 34.7% of Acalanes' points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Acalanes has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Dougherty Valley, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Acalanes will head out on the road to face off against Las Lomas at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Las Lomas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. Dougherty Valley will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Salinas at 3:30 p.m. on December 14th.
