Murphysboro has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will  square off against the Steeleville Warriors at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Both teams come into the  game bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 In what's become a running theme this season, Murphysboro gave their fans yet another huge  win on Monday. They never let Anna-Jonesboro onto the board and left with  a   10-0  victory. The  win was just what Murphysboro needed coming off of  a  17-5 loss in their prior  contest.
  Oliver Kartje made a big impact no matter where he played. He  pitched  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (he also didn't allow any  walks). Kartje was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with a  stolen base and  an  RBI.
 In other batting news, Murphysboro let  Kayden Rains and  Mason Bastien loose on the outfield. Rains  went 2-for-3 with a  home run and two  additional RBI, while  Bastien  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Trey Gillespie, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Steeleville got the win against Pinckneyville  on Wednesday by a conclusive  9-3.
 Murphysboro now  has a winning record of 4-3. As for Steeleville, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
 Murphysboro couldn't quite finish off Steeleville in their previous meeting  back in April of 2019 and fell  8-6. Can Murphysboro avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
