Cleveland got a massive performance out of Allison Farnsworth, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave Farnsworth a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brylee Cisco, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cleveland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Rhea County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Bledsoe County. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Eagles.
Allie Shaver spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ella Wilkey was excellent, going 3-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Presley Bradshaw, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
The win got Rhea County back to even at 11-11. As for Cleveland, their victory bumped their record up to 15-12.
Cleveland came out on top in a nail-biter against Rhea County in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 3-1. Will the Blue Raiders repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
