Dennis-Yarmouth Regional's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Peyton Kellett, who picked up 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Jayden Barber who threw for 202 yards and three touchdowns. Barber is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Nauset Regional was the victim of a tough 46-24 loss at the hands of Apponequet Regional on Friday.
Dennis-Yarmouth Regional's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-4. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Barnstable and 8-2 Salem (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 72.2% over those games). As for Nauset Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Dennis-Yarmouth Regional came out on top in a nail-biter against Nauset Regional in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, sneaking past 45-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dennis-Yarmouth Regional since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
