After three games on the road, Tatum is heading back home. They will take on The Sabine Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Tatum took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 49-15 win over White Oak. The result was nothing new for Tatum, who have now won three contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Tatum's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jamarri Gipson, who rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, and Cole Watson, who rushed for 70 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Gipson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. Jacorie Bradley was another key contributor, picking up 72 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Sabine's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 48-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gladewater. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (37), Sabine still had to take the loss.
Sabine might have lost, but man, Colt Sparks was a machine: he rushed for 128 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 74 yards and a touchdown.
With Tatum's win and Sabine's loss, both teams now sport identical 3-4 records.
Tatum took their victory against Sabine when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 56-34. Will Tatum repeat their success, or does Sabine have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
