Fort Walton Beach fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Daphne on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 14-13. On the bright side, the 13- run effort marked the Vikings' highest-scoring game to date.
Macy Borgen led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Elyse Heymann was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Pace waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Chiefs as they made off with a 10-3 win. Considering the Patriots have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Hannah DeMarcus tossed a big game, striking out 16 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than 12 strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Gracie Ueberroth was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Britten Kettler, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Pace kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2025.
Fort Walton Beach's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Pace, their record now sits at 12-1.
Fort Walton Beach suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Pace in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
