After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Avon Old Farms, Taft School was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Kent School Lions as they made off with a 9-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Big Red, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.
Christian Barbuto and Cooper Tantraporn were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Barbuto tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Tantraporn pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Taft School is undefeated when Tantraporn allows two or fewer hits, but 5-6 otherwise. At bat, Barbuto got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Tantraporn went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Tantraporn a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cayden Van Dolah, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Palmer, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
