Almont recap November 5, 2013
Carlos China and Michael Juarez provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Alhambra. The connection was good for 59 yards, the longest such play in Almont this season.
Montebello added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Moors, 49-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Isaac Mendibles provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Montebello beat Alhambra. Mendibles' key target this week was Edgar Gonzalez, who caught 2 passes for 52 yards.
James Giambalvo was the best receiver in the league this week as Eric Bergstrom's team lost to Pete Gonzalez's team. Giambalvo tallied 9 receptions for 119 yards. Arwendo Tendean helped Alhambra's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 43 yards.
Montebello's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Oilers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. China has thrown for 872 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Gonzalez has 18 catches for 595 yards.
As it stands, the Oilers are in first, while Schurr is in third.
San Gabriel fell to Bell Gardens 57-10 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jimmy Nguyen in the loss.
