The Mulberry Grove Aces had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 73-55 victory over Lebanon on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Mulberry Grove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Scoggins led the charge by scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Scoggins also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Sugg, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Mulberry Grove's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Lebanon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Mulberry Grove will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Father McGivney Catholic at 7:30 p.m. Father McGivney Catholic and Mulberry Grove are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Lebanon, they will head out on the road to face off against Valmeyer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
