The Norfolk Panthers proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 24) but on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 39-36 win over Columbus. Norfolk didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.
Leading Norfolk to victory were Skylar Indra and Tasha Eisenhauer. Indra scored 13 points, while Eisenhauer scored 17 points.
Norfolk's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Columbus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.
Norfolk won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lincoln Southwest at 5:45 p.m. on February 9th. Lincoln Southwest is coming into the match with 11 straight wins at home, meaning Norfolk will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. Columbus will take on Lincoln Southeast at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
