Kokomo can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. Everything went their way against the Marion Giants as the Kokomo Wildkats made off with a 15-3 win. The high-scoring effort was just what Kokomo needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.
Emma Lees was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Lees was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Kokomo got a massive performance out of Dani Tate, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jordan Thatcher, who went 2-for-2 with a triple, two RBI, and a run.
On Marion's side, Jayonna Davis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Zi'Onna Cole, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
The victory got Kokomo back to even at 10-10. As for Marion, they haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Kokomo will head out on the road to challenge Mississinewa at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marion, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Fort Wayne North Side at 5:30 p.m.
