Milford hasn't had much luck against Beaver recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Milford Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Beaver Beavers at 9:00 a.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Milford sitting on five straight wins and Beaver on three.
While Milford didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Their pitcher stepped up to hand North Summit a 16-0 shutout on Monday. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly 16 runs.

Jaidyn McMullin was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Whitney Wiseman was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Hadley Griffiths also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Milford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .536 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Beaver made easy work of Kanab on Wednesday and carried off a 12-2 victory. Considering the Beavers have won four games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Milford, Beaver also got a great game from a two-way player: Lexi Hafen. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Hafen was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jerzee Beaumont, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Danzee Bradshaw, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-1.
Milford pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14 runs. As for Beaver, their record now sits at 5-3.
Beaver's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Milford has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Beaver, though, as they've been averaging only 3.4 strikeouts. Will Milford keep running through batters, or will Beaver buck the trend?
Milford might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Beaver in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Milford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
