Cloudcroft will challenge Loving on the road at Loving at 7:00 PM on Friday. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps state rankings project a close contest.
It was all tied up at the half for Cloudcroft and Mission Achievement & Success last week, but Cloudcroft stepped up in the second half. Cloudcroft took their game against Mission Achievement & Success 40-33. Freshman Keygan Adams, who picked up 123 yards on the ground and threw 3 TDs, was a major factor in Cloudcroft's success. One of the most memorable plays of the match was Adams's 65-yard touchdown rush in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, Loving made easy work of Clayton and carried off a 26-0 win. Loving was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Their wins bumped Loving to 1-1 and Cloudcroft to 2-0. The Loving defense had it out for the quarterback last game and accrued 4 sacks, so hopefully Cloudcroft's offensive line has put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the matchup.
