The University Trailblazers lost against the Bethesda Christian Patriots last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. University took a 48-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bethesda Christian. University has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
University lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Charlotte Conyers, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Conyers hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Mackenzie Feeney was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five blocks.
Kenzie Fulks was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with eight assists and six steals for Bethesda Christian. Fulks continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sydney Goodin, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
University's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Bethesda Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-4.
University will be playing in front of their home fans against Lapel at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Lapel focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Tuesday. As for Bethesda Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Cascade at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Cascade: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Bethesda Christian has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
