It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Worth County Tigers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with a 56-45 victory over North Harrison. Given Worth County's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Shamrocks are ranked 427th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Tyler New, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Worth County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb New, who scored 18 points.
Despite the defeat, North Harrison saw an underclassman step up: Wyatt Maize scored 17 points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Maize has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Keygun Johnson, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
North Harrison struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Worth County pulled down 14 offensive rebounds.
Worth County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. As for North Harrison, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
