Volleyball Recap: Zionsville Wins Going Away Against Mccutcheon

Zionsville had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt McCutcheon on Tuesday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Mavericks with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Mavericks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

One reason for the win was Zionsville's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-16, 25-12.

Dylan Paino paced Zionsville's offense, picking up nine kills. Paino got some help from Mason Archer and his 21 assists. Paino was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Zionsville's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for McCutcheon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-6.

Zionsville and McCutcheon should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Eagles (ranked sixth) will meet Indianapolis Lutheran (ranked 44th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, McCutcheon will face off against Plainfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (30 vs. 114).
