The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Banks Academy in their matchups with Bessemer Academy: they've now lost eight in a row.
Bessemer Academy found their leader in underclassman Jaliyah Vance, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Vance is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Williams, who scored ten points.
Banks Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Bessemer Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Banks Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Evangel Christian at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. Bessemer Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Coosa Valley Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
