The St. John Paul II Lions will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Neighborhood House Charter Legends at 5:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: St. John Paul II has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while Neighborhood House Charter will arrive with seven straight wins.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 62-32, which was the final score in St. John Paul II's tilt against Westport last Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. John Paul II has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Neighborhood House Charter scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Prospect Hill Academy by a score of 75-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Neighborhood House Charter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tavon Rhodes out in front who scored 44 points. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Rhodes has scored at least a third of Neighborhood House Charter's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Juelz McGhee, who scored 24 points.
St. John Paul II's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Neighborhood House Charter, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
