Horton is 1-9 against Jackson Heights since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Horton Chargers will head out on the road to challenge the Jackson Heights Cobras at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Horton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. Their rough 52-26 defeat to Pleasant Ridge might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Horton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while Pleasant Ridge is ranked 139th).
Meanwhile, Jackson Heights took a serious blow against Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy on Friday, falling 56-24. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Jackson Heights has scored all season.
Horton's loss dropped their record down to 4-11-1. As for Jackson Heights, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Horton didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Jackson Heights in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 49-44 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Horton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
