Salpointe Catholic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Mark Woods, Oj Flores, and Nas Pedrego picked up one apiece. Pedrego also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six.
Rio Arnett continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mesa, rushing for 60 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Jackrabbits also got help from Caleb Tafua, who showed off his sure hands for 94 receiving yards.
Salpointe Catholic's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2. As for Mesa, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
