Centerville and Hagerstown are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Bulldogs will face off against the Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Centerville comes in on four and Hagerstown on three.
On Friday, Centerville earned a 6-1 win over Winchester Community.

Aubrey Seifer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Seifer wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Haven Walter, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another was Hannah Beaman, who went 3-for-4 with one run.
Centerville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Hagerstown got the win against Winchester Community on Wednesday by a conclusive 12-3. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Centerville, Hagerstown also got a great game from a two-way player: Rylan Young. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Young has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two doubles.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mackenzee Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Aaliya Anderson was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Hagerstown pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Centerville, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Centerville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .389. However, it's not like Hagerstown struggles in that department as they've averaged .411. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Centerville came up short against Hagerstown when the teams last played back in April, falling 5-2. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
