Basketball Recap: Broughton Takes a Loss

Broughton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Archbishop Carroll Lions, falling 66-44. While losing is never fun, the Capitals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 145th in North Carolina, while the Lions are ranked first in District of Columbia).

Despite the loss, Broughton still got an impressive performance from Jordan Page, who shot 46% from the field en route to 21 points and seven rebounds. The contest was Page's seventh in a row with at least 17 points. Will McLaughlin also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Broughton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Archbishop Carroll, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Broughton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-27 win against Corinth Holders on the 10th. As for Archbishop Carroll, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 78-61 loss against Neumann-Goretti on the 7th.
